Windows 2000 build 1729.1 is a Beta 1 build of Windows 2000. It changes many parts of the setup. Text-mode setup no longer detects the IDE drivers during this portion of setup, and has an option to restore a destroyed disk. The graphical stage appears closer to the final version. MSN is updated to version 2.5 (which doesn't work as it loads a webpage that has been taken down).
